Movie News Mash!

A whole mash-up of movie news! Just a bunch of little tidbits that one their own make a nice story, but just seem a little short. So I have put together a couple of interesting news packages on movies.
Enjoy!

"Nottingham"

Somehow, in this Robin Hood reimagining by Ridley Scott, Russel Crowe will be playing both Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. I thought it sounded strange, but Brian Gazer explained how this will work to MTV News.

Grazer said “The two role confusion is that what Robin Hood does is he sees Nottingham in battle very early in the movie and Nottingham dies. And Robin Hood takes over the identity of Nottingham. That's how it plays out.” Grazer went on to call the film “an origin story” for the characters.

"Nottingham" is schedule for a release date of Nov. 6, 2009.

"Tarzan"

"Tarzan" is getting a new live-action adaptation, but he will be losing his traditional loincloth style and get reinvented for a different era.

According to The Hollywood Insider, "The action-adventure icon will trash his loincloth and throw on a pair of khakis for the next big screen take on Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic character. Director Stephen Sommers ('The Mummy') and screenwriter Stuart Beattie (Australia'') are ditching the boy-raised-by-apes origin story for a 1930's-set romp with a hefty helping of romance: Think Pirates of the Caribbean with buffed-and-tanned actors flying through the jungle and sprinting up trees, parkour-style."

A pair of khakis? I hope some elaboration will come out on that later.
"Tarzan" scheduled for a release in sometime in 2010.

"Zoolander 2"

Ben Stiller has confirmed a sequel to the hilarious 2001 modeling spoof hit "Zoolander." Stiller insisted that he always wanted to make a sequel.

According to HollyScoop, "I've been trying to get 'Zoolander 2' together and we've had a few scripts" Stiller said. "I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first."

Stiller is also lined up to make a third movie in the "Meet the Parents" franchise and Robert De Niro is already signed up too.

Hope you found some movies to be of interest to you! Do you plan on seeing any of these? What do you think about these news bits?
