BLADE 4
According to the Arrow in the Head section of JoBlo, Wesley Snipes is interested in doing "Blade 4." Snipes specified that he was interested but would only do it if the script was right.
Last year we heard some news stating that the plan was to go ahead with another trilogy, a set of spin-off prequels based on the character of Deacon Frost. Frost, played by Stephen Dorff, was the feature villain of the first "Blade" movie where he met his end.
David Goyer, writer of all the "Blade" films and director of the third one, revealed last year that there was some talk behind the scenes about possibly doing another "Blade" movie. He didn’t specify any details and with his other major work lined up with bigger movies like "Batman 3," I don’t know how involved he'd be in a new "Blade."

DOC SAVAGE
Back in October, "Lethal Weapon" scribe Shane Black was hired to write the script for a new "Doc Savage" film. Variety now confirms that Black will direct the film from a screenplay he is penning with Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry, while Neal Moritz will produce.
Columbia co-president Matt Tolmach said: "Doc Savage is an icon, a character with limitless possibilities. We have had a great experience working with Neal to bring another classic character of the era, the Green Hornet, to a new generation of fans, and we think he and Shane make the ideal team to bring Doc Savage back to the big screen."
Black made his directing debut with "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" in 2005.
One of the most popular characters in the pulps of the 1930s and ’40s, Doc Savage was also popularized on radio, film and TV. Trained since birth to be nearly superhuman in every way, Doc Savage uses his skills and powers to fight evil all over the world.

David Goyer on 'Magneto' and 'Blade'

"X-Men Origins: Magneto," "X-Men: First Class" and "Deadpool" are the other planned movies hovering on standby. There's also been talk - though nothing official - of spin-offs for Storm and Gambit.
"Deadpool" has neither a writer nor a director - and star Ryan Reynolds is now over at Warner Bros to play "Green Lantern" so his involvement is not 100 percent guaranteed.
"First Class" has a writer ("Gossip Girl" and "The O.C." creator Josh Schwartz) but no director, though Bryan Singer has 'flirted' with the idea of taking the reins.
"Magneto" has a screenplay. It was penned by Sheldon Turner and then reworked by David Goyer, who is set to direct.
Goyer has now given an update on the origin film of the mutant archvillain, played in the previous X-movies by Ian McKellen.
He told MTV News: "They're still thinking about doing it. They're definitely looking into doing other X-Men spinoffs."
The filmmaker felt confident the movie would pick up speed shortly: "I've been in touch with them. I'm sure that project will move forward in the next year or so."

Of a further Blade film, he said: "It's been rumored over at New Line" and admitted there had been "murmurings."
But he indicated it would be a reboot, adding: "I think when you revisit these characters, the question is, how long should they stay off the shelf?
"When we did 'Batman Begins,' he'd been off the shelf for about eight years. It hasn't been eight years yet for Blade. I think usually if you give them a little breathing room between iterations, it's better."
So, "Blade 4" sounds much further away than "Magneto." The real question is whether Goyer has time to take on the master of magnetism, because of his many other commitments, including "Green Arrow: Escape from Super Max," TV series "Flash Forward" and the much-anticipated "Batman 3."
Do you think Goyer will make time in his schedule to direct "X-Men Origins: Magneto"? And do you want to see another "Blade" movie?

A Spin-Off 'Blade' Prequel?

In an interview with The Sunday Mail, actor Stephen Dorff allegedly remarked that a prequel trilogy to the first “Blade” film is in the works. Dorff would reprise his role as the villainous Deacon Frost in a series of movies exploring the character’s rise from underling to vampire overlord.
“It will be a prequel to the ‘Blade’ movies, Deacon’s story,” the actor said. “It’s a new trilogy the director [Stephen Norrington] has created. It will [be] cool.”
Norrington himself sent an update to Mania.com clarifying a few details. He did confirm that this news is accurate, but it's "not exactly how the article describes but close." He's not planning to start working on this spin-off until he finishes the remake of "The Crow." He credits Dorff for coming up with the idea that "has evolved into a very interesting story." So there you have it - it may be a long ways out, but Norrington did confirm that it was actually happening.
Maybe the biggest question about a Deacon Frost trilogy is whether or not there’s an audience in place. Sure, vampires are on the rise, but will the “Twilight” fans come to theaters for a guaranteed bloodfest focusing on a seriously villainous character? Without Blade’s involvement, will comic book fans fill out the seats?
On that last point, Norrington said “Blade” fans will be happy. “The linkage to ‘Blade’ is still big in the equation,” he said.

Bring Back Blade
In an interview with ShockTilYouDrop, David Goyer (director of upcoming "Magneto"), said how he would like to return to the "Blade" franchise. Goyer, who wrote all three original "Blade" films, mentioned that a "Blade" reboot would be a good idea.
"I heard rumors that they [New Line Cinema] may want to start from scratch with a new person playing Blade. It's funny because I thought about how I never wanted to do a vampire film ever again because I'm sick of it. But I was reading the Tomb of Dracula Omnibus and I hadn't read them in a long time and I thought it might be cool to do another vampire movie at some point."
Either a remake or a reboot, the "Blade" franchise has grossed over $400 million worldwide and had a short-lived television series. Goyer had his own thoughts on how reboots work.
"God, it feels like they remake movies five years after they come out now," Goyer answers when asked if there's the possibility of seeing Blade's resurrection on screen. "I'm sure New Line at some point would like to do another version of it. Me? Never say never, but I think remakes are more successful the more time there is in between. Honestly, I think they should have waited for the new 'Hulk.' I like the new one. But the longer time you have between remakes [and their originals], the better. For me, ten years is the minimum you really need."
