Box Office results for the weekend!

1 Shrek Forever After$43.3 M

2 Sex and the City 2$32.1 M

3 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time $30.1 M

4 Iron Man 2 $16.0 M

5 Robin Hood $10.3 M

6 Letters to Juliet $5.9 M

7 Just Wright $2.2 M

8 Date Night $1.7 M

9 MacGruber $1.4 M

10 How To Train Your Dragon $1.0 M

Nobody was expecting "Shrek 4" to win the weekend. Since last Memorial Day weekend "Night at the Museum 2" did the best, we should have expected this maybe.

"Sex and the City 2" probably would have been No. 1 had it not opened on Thursday with about $14 million. But adding that with its weekend numbers still shows it had a smaller oepning than the first "Sex and the City" film (which was $56.8 million). Can the film match the $152.6 million domestic total of the first film? BTW, women made up 90 percent of the audience for "Sex and the City 2." Go figure.

"Prince of Persia" pretty much bombed. A good opening for most films, but not one made on a $200 million budget. Not expecting this to become a big franchise now...

Other films slip down to DVD land with "Iron Man 2" still making some money. It is right now $35 million away from passing "Iron Man"'s total.

Next week a few new films come out. Will "Shrek 4" take the top spot again or will it fall to a new film (or one of the films that opened this past weekend)? We'll have to wait and see.

Movie News Rush 9

"Transformers 3"

The news - since Megan Fox is out, a new leading lady will be entering the film. And who better than a lingerie model? Mr. Michael Bay - can't you do better than that? But then again, the male GMA will probably want a new hot chick in the film since Fox is out. *sigh*

The new actress is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a Victoria's Secret model. She has no acting experience but in the grand scheme of things, even if she did, it likely won’t change the quality of the overall product of "Transformers 3" nor the arguably undeserved box office results it will attain.

Watch a video below that pretty much shows how she auditioned for the film. WARNING NSFW!

"Jonah Hex"

The news - Just a new trailer for the film. It contains some explosions and quick editing, but still has Megan Fox. (I feel like this post is just all around anti-Megan Fox for some reason).

"Logan's Run"

The news - another sci-fi remake is on the way, this time redoing the 1976 "Logan's Run," which is about a society where everyone is unknowingly sacrificed when they turn thirty years old. Enforcers called Sandmen capture “runners,” people who try to escape their sacrifice. When Logan discovers the truth, he becomes a runner himself. Carl Erik Rinsch is attached to direct the film after he finishes up work on "47 Ronin."

"Alice in Wonderland"

The news - Tim Burton's latest film has become the sixth film in history to pass the $1 billion mark. Most of that money comes from the overseas market. The film earned around $332 million domestically in its box office run in the US, taking in the remaining $667 million from the international markets. I stopped watching the numbers for this film a long time ago (as did many others), so this is a complete surprise. Who knew the film would be such a success overseas?

But is the film actually that good to be among the top few who have also earned over $1 billion? The only other movies that have achieved that success (in order starting at #1) are: "Avatar," "Titanic," "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and "The Dark Knight." Need I mention how three of the films now six films on that list came out in the past 3 years? Are the higher movie tickets and 3D inflations helping? Maybe in a few decades making a billion dollars won't be considered a vast amount of money...

Box Office results for the weekend!

1 How To Train Your Dragon $15.0 M

2 The Back-Up Plan$12.2 M

3 Date Night $10.6 M

4 The Losers$9.6 M

5 Kick-Ass $9.5 M

6 Clash of the Titans $9.0 M

7 Death at a Funeral $8.0 M

8 Oceans $6.0 M

9 The Last Song $3.7 M

10 Alice in Wonderland $2.2 M

Low numbers this weekend. In fact, it's the smallest box office take so far this year. Expect numbers to jump drastically in the next upcoming weeks.

"How To Train Your Dragon," which actually lost to "Kick-Ass" last weekend when the final numbers were tallied, grew back its wings and soared to No. 1 again with about $355 million in the bank worldwide.

The GMA (general movie audience) continue to show just how stupid they really are. Jennifer Lopez's "The Back-Up Plan" came in 2nd with an estimated $12.2 million. Are people really missing Jennifer Lopez and are desperate enough that they'd actually pay to see her on screen in a below average rom-com? I really shouldn't be baffled by this since I know people who would see films like this.

Meanwhile, the other new release, that was actually fun to watch, came in 4th place with $9.6 million. "The Losers" lost big at the box office, making it the second comic book adaptation in two weeks to not reach studio expectations.

"Date Night" stayed in third place. I still haven't seen it and will probably catch it when it hits DVD. And if someone else pays for the rental. "Kick-Ass" had a 50 percent drop in box office and fell from No. 1 to No. 5 in its second week. So much for word of mouth. So far it has made $56 million worldwide.

Finally got around to seeing the "Clash of the Titans" remake. I'm a sucker for plot and character development - which this film had little of.

Disneynature's second film to be released, "Oceans," did a respectable $6.0 million. I need to see this movie, it looks really cool. I like nature documentaries about Oceans. My favorite parts are when they show fish swimming in the water.

"Alice in Wonderland" fills out the last slot for the Top Ten, but expect it to be gone next weekend as "Nightmare on Elm Street" scares its way into theaters along with some random films that no one heard of.

Movies coming out this week!

Kick-Ass - Despite the fact that he has zero superpowers, teenage fanboy Dave Lizewski (Johnson) looks to reincarnate himself as a crime-fighting superhero named Kick-Ass, a decision that will inspire a subculture of copy cats, put his life in danger, and unite him with a similarly minded father-daughter duo (Cage and Moretz).

Death at a Funeral - A patriarch's funeral leads to a series of family arguments, revealing dark secrets and possibly murder.

UPDATED:
1 Clash of the Titans $26.6 M
2 Date Night $25.2 M
3 How To Train Your Dragon $24.8 M

Despite Sunday morning studio estimates reporting "Date Night" in first, "Clash of the Titans" prevailed when actual grosses were tallied on Monday, but less than $1.8 million separated the top three movies. "Clash" came in at $26.6 million, slightly less than its $26.9 million Sunday estimate, but "Date Night" had the biggest overestimation: its actual gross was $25.2 million versus the $27.1 million that its studio, 20th Century Fox, reported Sunday morning. "How to Train Dragon" was also overestimated, landing with $24.9 million compared to its $25.4 million estimate. (Box Office Mojo)

Original Sunday estimates below.

1 Date Night$27.1 M

2 Clash of the Titans $26.8 M

3 How To Train Your Dragon $25.3 M

4 Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too? $11.0 M

5 The Last Song $10.0 M

6 Alice in Wonderland $5.6 M

7 Hot Tub Time Machine $5.4 M

8 The Bounty Hunter $4.3 M

9 Diary of a Wimpy Kid $4.1 M

10 Letters To God $1.2 M

In a clash of the dimensions, "Date Night" and "Clash of the Titans" were in a dead heat at the box office this weekend as the two films are separated by only about 50,000 tickets.

Though "Clash" is playing in 3D, it dropped 56 percent from last week. Maybe people saw how terrible it looked in 3D and told there friends, but really - it is probably worth a shot in 2D. Don't see 3D unless it was meant to be in 3D.

Meanwhile, "How to Train Your Dragon" dropped a scant 13 percent, showing that good word of mouth really can make a difference as the film has a 98 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Tyler Perry's new flick and "The Last Song" keep dropping and let's just say the word of mouth for these films probably won't be helping them in the next two or three weeks they're still around.

Other films keep petering out with "Alice in Wonderland" now around $800 million worldwide, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" at $53 million on a $15 million budget and "The Bounty Hunter somehow still in the Top Ten.

Well, at least "Kick-Ass" is coming out next week to blow up and destroy the competition. Will it be No. 1? You bet your sweet kick-ass it will!

8 Shutter Island $3.1 M

9 Repo Men $3.0 M

10 Our Family Wedding $2.2 M

Wow...is "Avatar" gone? It...it really is. "Avatar" did not make the Top Ten for the weekend. It now must be considered the least bankable film of all time. Wait...I think I may have that wrong...

Joking aside, "How to Train Your Dragon" beat out "Alice in Wonderland." Except the No. 1 film's numbers aren't that impressive considering "Monsters vs. Aliens" opened last year with $59 million (and that was with lower ticket prices since 3D just went up). Meanwhile, "Alice in Wonderland" has banked $656m in worldwide cume. A huge hit for the Mouse House. And it'll kill on Blu-Ray/DVD.

"Hot Tub Time Machine" came in third with a disappointing opening weekend. Can word of mouth bring this funny film up? Maybe, but there are new films coming out next weekend...

And "Bounty Hunter" only fell 40 percent? The human race fails again.

The rest of the films continue to peter out of existence with "Repo Men" taking the hardest hit since it basically made no money in its time in theaters.

What about next weekend though? Can the dragons stay on top or will mythological battles rule the day? And then there's that Miley Cyrus flick and that Tyler Perry flick...but how many people are going to see those? Oh...right...

6 Green Zone $5.9 M

7 Shutter Island $4.7 M

8 Avatar $4.0 M

9 Our Family Wedding $3.8 M

10 Remember Me $3.3 M

"Alice in Wonderland" has cleaned house at the box office for three weeks in a row with an estimated $34.5 million. The movie has now earned over $565,000,000 worldwide. Can you say sequel?

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid," which my younger sibling loves, came in 2nd place with $21.8 million. Fans of the kids books series should rejoice at how well it did. It even beat out Jennifer Anniston's new flick.

Speaking of that new flick, "The Bounty Hunter" came in third. How is Jennifer Aniston still allowed to make movies? I haven't seen "The Bounty Hunter" - nor do I plan to.

Jude Law and Forest Whitaker's action thriller "Repo Men" flopped with a No. 4 opening of $6.2 million - far below what many (including the studio) were epecting.

Other films hung in there such as "Shutter Island" and "She's Out of My League," though "Green Zone" dropped the most over the weekend.

In its 13th week of release "Avatar" made only $4.0 million and can now be considered a financial disaster with only about $2.6 billion made worldwide. Sheesh...

Can "Alice" win four weekends in a row? I'm expecting "How to Train Your Dragon" to win the weekend with "Hot Tub Time Machine" coming in somewhere in the Top 5.

More news to come! Catch ya' later!

10 The Crazies $2.8 M

Many parents continued to bring their kids to see "Alice in Wonderland" over the weekend. I ended up seeing it myself and thought it was decent. See it in 2D though, the 3D is terrible and annoying.

"Alice in Wonderland" has already cleared $50 M more than "A Christmas Carol," and it only took ten days to get there.

Many of the films from the previous weekend did well against the new films such as "She's Out of My League" and "Our Family Wedding" (though the latter didn't have a grand opening).

"Green Zone" beat out the new films by making enough green to stay out of "She's Out of My League's" league while "Remember Me" won't be remembered on the Top Ten for long with newer films coming in next weekend to rid the board of the petering out films.

Next weekend we have a rom-com, a children's film and an action flick. Can any of these become top of the heap and beat out "Alice in Wonderland"?

8 Valentine's Day $4.2 M

9 Crazy Heart $3.3 M

10 Dear John $2.8 M

Audiences followed Tim Burton and Johnny Depp down the rabbit hole this weekend as "Alice in Wonderland" scored the sixth largest debut of all time, shattering box office records for 3-D and IMAX along the way and was the second biggest PG opening ever ($5 M behind "Shrek the Third").

The debut was nearly $40 million more than analysts predicted and gave the film the largest debut ever for a non-sequel, beating out "Spider-Man."

The film also smashed records set just a few weeks ago by "Avatar," including largest debut on IMAX.

"Wonderland" raked in $11.9 million on IMAX, surpassing "Avatar's" $9.5 million.

The 2009 Sundance hit "Brooklyn's Finest" held its own with a $13.5 million opening and beating out "Shutter Island," which came in third.

"Cop Out" came in fourth and was followed by "Avatar." After three months on screen, Avatar has racked up $720.2 million and has yet to drop out of the top five. Worldwide, it has done $2.6 billion, another record.

The rest of the films kind of did bottom barrel business as usual. Say goodbye to "Valentine's Day" as you won't be seeing it around these parts anymore.

Expect films like "Green Zone" and "She's Out of My League" to be battling for second place next weekend as I expect "Alice in Wonderland" to stay in the top spot.

7 Dear John $5.0 M

8 The Wolfman $4.1 M

9 The Tooth Fairy $3.4 M

10 Crazy Heart $2.5 M

"Shutter Island" stayed at the top of the list as the No. 1 film, knocking off two newcomers and managing to earn decent coin while doing so. The Scorsese thriller has reached just over $79 million worldwide and will hopefully continue to do well since its budget was around $80 million.

Watching the trailers for "Cop Out" didn't make me feel good about the film, but I was still hoping to hear positive feedback from other critics. Sadly, I have heard only negative feedback. How long will it stay in the Top Ten if everyone keeps saying it's bad?

As for "The Crazies," everything I hear is good - that it is more than a remake, it is a whole horror reimagining. Besides, I just like Timothy Olyphant as an actor.

"Avatar" refuses to falter. That's eleven weekends in a row its been in the top four, a feat I'd have thought impossible these days. It has now passed $700 million in domestic dollars and is sitting pretty with a worldwide gross of $2,481,904,000. My keyboard just ran out of zeroes for the day.

The rest of the films continue to peter out with "The Wolfman" dropping like a rock and "Valentine's Day" somehow still staying above the surface. I have my theories on this, but I feel a wave of estrogen fury will come my way if I continue to mouth off - both online and off.

Next weekend, "Alice in Wonderland" tumbles into theaters and will most likely take the No. 1 spot.

Alice Loses her Clothes in this 'Alice in Wonderland' Clip

In this latest clip from Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," Alice eats one of those “pills that makes you larger” which Jefferson Airplane sang so famously about and literally gets too big for her britches.

Alice in Wonderland Exclusive Clip - Clothe This Girl

For some reason...my favorite part of this clip is Carter as the Red Queen and her last few lines. "Someone clothe this enormous girl."

"Alice In Wonderland" is a sequel/re-imagining in which Alice (Mia Wasikowska), now a teenage girl, is thrust back into Wonderland with no memory of her prior visit and tasked with saving the lunatic realm from the evil Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter).

More Super Bowl Ads

[From Screen Rant]
Super Bowl XLIV‎ is over and the Saints won, but we’re not here to talk about that. It’s often said that the majority of viewers tune into the big game just for the commercials, so on that note we have some TV spots for upcoming movies for you.

We already had a chance to see the Super Bowl ads for M. Night Shyamalan’s "The Last Airbender" as well as Ridley Scott’s "Robin Hood," but now that the game has aired, we can show you the latest commercials for "The Wolfman," "Prince of Persia" and "Alice in Wonderland."

We’ll go through this in order of when the movies debut so starting us off is Joe Johnston’s remake of "The Wolfman." which stars Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving.

Next up is Tim Burton’s re-imagining of the classic tale of "Alice in Wonderland." The film utilizes Burton regulars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, and stars young Mia Wasikowska as the title character.

Last but not least is the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced video game adaptation "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." The blockbuster film is directed by Mike Newell and stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the title character alongside Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.

There wasn’t that many studios forking out the big bucks this year for time during the big game but out of them all, my favorite high above the rest is for "The Last Airbender," which is one of my most anticipated films of the year.

New 'Alice in Wonderland' Trailer

Disney has debuted a second trailer for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" that will also be attached to most prints of "Avatar" this weekend.

The first trailer wowed people several months ago, but that was nothing when compared to this new traileras it blows that old one right out of the water!

What I immediately noticed about this trailer is that it indicates this is not Alice's first time in Wonderland and thus is a sort of a sequel. That is big news as this means the story is more original than the classic "Alice in Wonderland" tale.

The movie stars Mia Wasikowska as Alice and she is joined by Johnny Depp, Matt Lucas, Michael Sheen, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Eleanor Tomlinson, Christopher Lee, Alan Rickman and Stephen Fry.

"Alice in Wonderland" hits theaters March 5, 2010.

Trailers and Clips Galore!

A whole slew of trailers and clips have come out in the past day, so I am going to jam them all in this one post so you can enjoy all of them in one sitting.

"Shutter Island"

The first trailer for this film came out back in June, but sadly the movie's release date moved from October 2 this year to February 19 next year. A second trailer appeared last month and now we have a new trailer you can watch below. The creepy factor for this movie has escalated in every trailer, but do you think we are seeing too much of the plot?

"Alice in Wonderland"

The original teaser trailer for this film came out in July, and this new trailer is basically the exact same thing but edited differently and being a second or two longer. Can't wait for a real trailer to come out for this film already.

Alice in Wonderland - Extended Trailer

"Boondock Saints II: All Saint's Day"

While the movie right now is only a limited release, you can catch the first five minutes of the film in the video below. Want to see the rest of the movie now?

"Green Zone"

Matt Damon teams up with "Bourne" director Paul Greengrass again to brings us another action movie. It is loosely-based on Rajiv Chandrasekaran's non-fiction book The Imperial Life in Emerald City.

"Invictus"

Clint Eastwood’s latest directorial effort, entitled "Invictus" (which is Latin for “unconquered”) stars Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela and Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar, a Rugby player for South Africa. The film centers on when Mandela campaigned, “to host the 1995 Rugby World Cup event as an opportunity to unite his countrymen.” Will this be an Oscar contender?

Yeah, we have two Matt Damon trailers here. Got a problem with that?

Stuntman Talks 'Iron Man 2,' 'Tintin,' 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Avatar'

Garrett Warren was recently crowned the 2009 Stunt Choreographer of the Year at the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards, and he sat down for an exclusive interview with Movieline to describe what it’s like working on films like "Tintin," "Alice In Wonderland," James Cameron’s "Avatar," and being Mickey Rourke's lead stunt double in "Iron Man 2."

“'Iron Man 2' had a double-whip sequence, and I am a whip specialist. There’s not very many of us in Hollywood that do double-whips… double-whip basically means that you have two whips in your hands…I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say what the whips will look like, but they’re going to be these super whips that have an awful lot of power. They can cut through cars, they can do an awful lot of damage…you’ll see that he doesn’t do just whip-cracks and grabbing people. He lays waste to an awful lot of vehicles and street pieces and other things…

…And when it comes to the whip routine, I have to admit, Mickey Rourke did a really good job with the whips. However, the suit was very painful at times. It was this big metal piece that wasn’t very comfortable, so he didn’t always want to do the whip routines every take. So I’d go in and do the whip routines…

…[the suit] covers the whole body in metal rods, but you are shirtless [underneath]. That was the part that was hard. When you move, it was metal digging into skin, cutting your shoulders, wrists and back and so forth.”
Warren also described the look of "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" and how how amazing the digital effects are.

"We did a test for it two years before we shot it, and when we did the test it was fun and interesting. But oh my gosh — when we finally saw the movie, it was amazing. The stuff that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson came up with, the performances of Daniel Craig, Jamie Bell, Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis — oh my goodness. You cannot imagine what those guys can do to words on a page. It’s one of the better movies that people are going to see, especially when it comes to being an animated movie

...It looks an awful lot like the cartoon. They really wanted to bring the cartoon to life. So if you know the cartoon, or have seen the books, that’s what it looks like. It’s beautiful. You would have thought to yourself that they would have tried to go for a more realistic look, but they’re actually trying to preserve the look and essence of the original Tintin characters."

He also described what stunts actors might do and used Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" and Johnny Depp as examples.

"...you get to a movie like 'Alice in Wonderland,' and Johnny Depp says, 'I only really want to do the stunts that are necessary for me. Anything that you don’t need to see me in, I prefer to let the stunt double do it.' Those are the kinds of stunts — where you’ll be falling down some stairs, or falling off a chair — that while they might not seem like big stunts, they hurt your actor. And that sets you back production-wise. It’s always good to see someone who is professional who thinks ahead and realizes that it’s not a big deal to see someone fall on the ground."
And finally, Warren described what it was like to work with James Cameron on "Avatar."

"'Avatar' was one of the most uplifting, educational, incredible experiences I’ve ever had as a movie maker. Jim Cameron is truly a genius. Aside from him being a genius, he’s also a storyteller that you cannot deny — one of the greatest you’re going to find out there. And he takes the time with the actors, too. He doesn’t rush them at all. And he really cares about what they have to say, how they’re going to perform it, and he gives them the time to work it out before they even do the scene. I was truly impressed by him and the movie. The marriage of green screen, live action, and motion capture was truly one of the most painstaking efforts I’ve ever had to do when it comes to a motion capture, but in the long run, I think it paid off. You’ll see some of the most realistic motion capture, if not the most realistic, the movie industry has ever seen."

He does say a lot of good things about these films (but he probably get paid a lot for what he does).

New Trailers for 'Alice in Wonderland,' 'Book of Eli' and 'Tron 2'

THE BOOK OF ELI
Apple has just debuted the first teaser trailer for "The Book of Eli" starring Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman.

The film revolves around a lone warrior (Washington) who must fight to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption. Oldman has been set to portray the despot of a small makeshift town who's determined to take possession of the book Eli's guarding.

"The Book of Eli" hits theaters on January 15, 2010 from Warner Bros.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND
"Alice in Wonderland" is based on Lewis Carroll's beloved series of books that were first published in 1865.

Disney is bringing Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" to both digital 3D and 2D theaters everywhere on March 5th, 2010 early next year.

TRON LEGACY
This teaser trailer is the same that was shown last year at Comic-Con (and in 3D this year) and is still the best footage from "Tron 2" out there But this isn't actual footage from the movie - it's test footage created to sell the movie. They are using some of these set pieces and lightcycles, but that's about it.

Disney is bringing "Tron Legacy" to theaters in late 2010, although a date isn't set yet.

'Alice in Wonderland' Teaser Trailer at Comic-Con

Tim Burton has already been announced to appear at this year’s Comic-Con (for the first time in over 30 years) to promote his produced animated film, "9." However, that’s not the only thing Burton is there to promote - he’s also bringing with him the very first footage of his upcoming adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland."

“[It’s] a kind of a semi-trailer,” Burton said. “It’s where we’re at at the moment. There’s not a lot of footage to show.”

It’s understandable that Burton wouldn’t have a full trailer for "Wonderland" yet, considering the movie’s still a while away and they’re not anywhere near done filming yet to be able to give us a full trailer. Not only is the point in time an issue in that they simply don’t have enough to show yet, there’s also the issue that the movie is a complicated mix of live-action, CGI and motion capture, which requires a lot of production beyond just shooting it with a camera. Burton explains:

“It’s a strange process we’re dealing with… We’re using a mix of techniques. If you picked them apart, each technique has been done before. We’re mixing them up, in a way.”

“I wish we had more footage to show… It’s a real mysterious puzzle that’s frightening and exciting at the same time.”

Burton is scheduled to appear on the "9" panel on Friday July 24th, but pre-empts that with the "Wonderland" footage the day before during the Disney 3-D panel.

MTV News speculates that along with the Wonderland “semi-trailer,” we’ll most likely get Burton talking about the processing of making it, including collaborating with Johnny Depp for the seventh time.

"Alice in Wonderland" is set to hit theaters March 5, 2010.

Jonny Depp And All His Disney Movies

During the press conferences for upcoming crime drama "Public Enemies," Johnny Depp has also been asked about his other film projects including "Pirates of the Caribbean 4," "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Lone Ranger."

In "Alice in Wonderland," he plays The Mad Hatter; in "The Lone Ranger" he is set to play Tonto; and in "Pirates of the Caribbean 4," he will of course reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

So what did Depp say about all these?

According to Latino Review, here's what the actor had to say on each of those projects.

On Pirates of the Caribbean 4:
"Call me a glutton. Honestly, if we can get the screenplay right to Pirates 4, because obviously virtually no cinema is perfect. Pirates 1 had its own thing, Pirates 2 and 3 had their own thing and you know it got a little confusing here and there in the story. Not that I've seen the movies, but I hear tales.

"I think for me, because I love the character so much, and I enjoy playing the character so much and people seem to like him, that if there's an opportunity to try again, it's like going up to bat. You wanna get back out there and try and try and I enjoy playing the character of Jack very much.

On The Lone Ranger:
"I think we're still in the sort of super beginning stages so there's all kinds of possibilities, but I feel like I have some good ideas for the character that I don't think have been done all that much before."

And on playing The Mad Hatter:
"Well, the Hatter was awfully fun, you know? After doing something like John Dillinger [in Public Enemies], it evolves where it's so overstrained because of the responsibility you have to that guy, that the Mad Hatter was like being fired out of a cannon.

"The Hatter was great fun, and it's one of things where you're just amazed you weren't fired, you know? All I've seen is bits and pieces but what I imagined it to look like is is how I feel I thought he should look, which is the first reason I was surprised I didn't get fired."

"Public Enemies" comes out July 1 and "Alice in Wonderland" March 5 next year.

First Look at 'Alice in Wonderland'

USA Today has gotten their hands on an impressive array of concept art and character images from Tim Burton’s upcoming Disney feature "Alice in Wonderland."

The above photo shows Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. All three photos can be seen in much larger versions over at USA Today. Below are different concept art pictures for the film.

"It has been Burton-ized" is how producer Richard Zanuck describes the director's vision of the Lewis Carroll classic. After shooting for only 40 days, they're working on adding CG animation and motion-capture creatures.

"The rabbit is convinced he has the right Alice," Zanuck says about the scene below. "He has been looking for her for years." Michael Sheen plays the White Rabbit.
A scene where Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska, greets talking rose blossoms at the entrance to what seems to be a forest of giant mushrooms. "But as in the book, her size shrinks and grows throughout her journey."
Egg-shaped Tweedledee and Tweedledum, who are created through motion-capture technology, are among the first characters to greet Alice. They take her to meet the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). The twins are played by popular British comic Matt Lucas, best known for the TV series Little Britain.
Interestingly, this is somewhat of a sequel to Disney's animated movie from 1951. "Alice, 17, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. Off she runs, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited 10 years before yet doesn't remember." As for Wasikowska, who plays Alice, Burton says "she just had that certain kind of emotional toughness, standing her ground in a way that makes her kind of an older person with a younger person's mentality." Zanuck also adds: "There is something real, honest and sincere about her."

Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" is scheduled to hit theaters on March 5, 2010 in both Disney Digital 3D as well as regular 2D.

Alice in Wonderland's Cast

Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway shall be taking the trip down the rabbit hole along with Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska.

Wasikowska will be playing Alice in Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland for Disney. Johnny Depp will be playing the Mad Hatter while Hathaway and Carter play the opposing queens in Wonderland.

According to UGO Movie Blog, "Hathaway is playing the White Queen, a benevolent monarch who is deposed and banished by her sister, the Red Queen (Carter), who has an affinity for crying out, 'Off with their heads!' The White Queen needs Alice to slay a creature known as the Bandersnatch."

Bonham Carter has worked on other films with Burton, her fiance, such as Planet of the Apes, Sweeny Todd, Corpse Bride, Big Fish, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The movie will use a combination of live action and performance-capture technology to tell the Lewis Carroll story.

The Lone Ranger will be hitting theaters within the next two years. Anybody in the mood for a western? Rumors abound about who will play the Long Ranger and his sidekick Tonto (might be fact that Johnny Depp will play Tonto).

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 has been mentioned by Disney again....but still no real news on it.

National Treasure 3 is in the works and Nicholas Cage has signed back on.

Johnny Depp shall play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. This won't be like the same Disney tale we are all used to.

Pixar has announced they will be making a Cars 2, which will take place around the world.
