Box Office results for the weekend!

1 The Blind Side $20.4 M

2 The Twilight Saga: New Moon $15.7 M

3 Brothers $9.7 M

4 Disney's A Christmas Carol $7.5 M

5 Old Dogs $6.9 M

6 Armored $6.6 M

7 2012 $6.6 M

8 Ninja Assassin $5.0 M

9 Planet 51 $4.3 M

10 Everybody's Fine $4.0 M

In its third week, "The Blind Side" managed to take over the box office and finally topple "New Moon" to become No. 1 over the weekend with $20.4 million. So far it has earned $129 million domestically (a hit for Warner Bros.), but "New Moon" has earned almost $500 million dollars worldwide. Oh the power of teen angst.

"Brothers" had a decent debut but for being so depressive might not survive for very long. "Everybody's Fine" and "Armored" pretty much tanked while ""Ninja Assassin" and "Planet 51" dropped miserably. Other films will keep petering out, but expect "2012" and "A Christmas Carol" to probably be in the lower numbers next weekend.

Movies coming out this week!

Armored - A newbie guard for an armored truck company is coerced by his veteran coworkers to steal a truck containing $42 million. But a wrinkle in their supposedly foolproof plan divides the group, leading to a potentially deadly resolution.

Brothers - Sam Cahill (Maguire) returns from being held as a prisoner-of-war in Afghanistan to find that his ex-con brother (Gyllenhaal) has become the man, of sorts, of the household where Sam's wife, Grace (Portman) had been living under the assumption that she was a widow.

Everybody's Fine - A widower (De Niro) takes an impromptu road trip in order to reconnect with his grown children, only to discover that his family members are living far from perfect lives.

Transylmania - A horror comedy that follows a group of college kids who travel to Transylvania for a semester at Razvan University, which isn't as picturesque (or safe) as it appeared on its brochure.

Terminator Salvation
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
A Christmas Tale
Paper Heart

Box Office results for the weekend!

7 Planet 51 $10.2 M

8 Precious $7.0 M

9 The Fantastic Mr. Fox $7.0 M

10 The Men Who Stare at Goats $1.5 M

"New Moon" almost lost the holiday weekend as "The Blind Side" hit from...well...the blind side. But the vampire/werewolf romance flick stayed on top, but ended up falling over 70 percent from last weekend. Still, it is just under $475 million worldwide on a projected budget of only $50 million.

"The Blind Side" improved its numbers from last weekend, as did "A Christmas Carol." But "Old Dogs" and "Ninja Assassin" fell through the ranks. Heck, "The Road" didn't even make it on the Top 10 list.

Can "New Moon" stay on top for three weekends in a row or will another film take its place? If it does fall, what film do you think will win the weekend?

More news to come! Catch ya' later!

Box Office results for the weekend!

2 Michael Jackson's This Is It $14.0 M

3 The Men Who Stare at Goats $13.3 M

4 The Fourth Kind$12.5 M

5 Paranormal Activity $8.6 M

6 The Box $7.8 M

7 Couples Retreat $6.4 M

8 Law Abiding Citizen $6.1 M

9 Where the Wild Things Are $4.2 M

10 Astro Boy $2.5 M

"A Christmas Carol" had a pretty high budget (between $150-185 million) and that is not a bug opening weekend. Disney probably won't be making back lots of profit from this technology-filled film.

And lots of people must not be into new movies! Michael Jackson's documentary continues to make money for people who wish to profit from his death while "Paranormal Activity" continues to keep people up at night.

Films on the lower ends of the list will continue to peter off to DVD land.
What film will win next weekend?
Probably the epic disaster movie "2012."

Box Office results for the weekend!

1 Michael Jackson's This Is It$21.3 M

2 Paranormal Activity $16.5 M

3 Law Abiding Citizen $7.3 M

4 Couples Retreat$6.0 M

5 Saw VI $5.5 M

6 Where the Wild Things Are $5.0 M

7 The Stepfather $3.4 M

8 Astro Boy $3.0 M

9 Amelia $3.0 M

10 Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant $2.8 M

Michael Jackson's return from the dead has earned him a fair amount of money ($101 million over the full five days), but not as much as the studio estimated (which was $250 million). That is why the limited two-week engagement of the film has been lengthened until Thanksgiving. I say stop dragging the corpse around to earn money and bury the guy already (last sentence meant to be metaphorical, not literal).

"Paranormal" still has lots of activity as it stays near the top for Halloween weekend (and it will be up there for a few more weeks at least).

Lots of films just keep falling except for "Couples Retreat" getting an extra boost and "Amelia" actually made the Top 10 as it opened in more theaters the past weekend.

What do you think will win the next weekend?

New 'A Christmas Carol' Clips

Ever since Comic Con, Disney has been pushing their Robert Zemeckis-directed version of the Charles Dickens’ classic story "A Christmas Carol." They’ve done everything they can to ensure that as many people as possible know about the film and go see it. Of course, that is the whole point of marketing but I fear they may be over doing it a touch. The 7-month-long "A Christmas Carol" train journey was almost overdoing it but now I think they are showing way too much of the film two weeks before its release.

Below you can watch six new clips of the film that Collider assembled into one 5 minute video. The audio doesn’t seem to be all that impressive but hopefully it will be better in theaters.

New 'A Christmas Carol' Featurette

A new featurette just hit the web today for Robert Zemeckis' new 3-D animated film "A Christmas Carol." The featurette not only includes a lot of great new footage in it, but also includes some interviews with Jim Carrey and Robert Zemeckis. It's not truly a behind-the-scenes featurette per se, because it doesn't show us how this made, but instead features the two talking about their collaboration in bringing the Charles Dickens' tale to life.

"A Christmas Carol" is both written and directed by Robert Zemeckis ("Back to the Future" "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "Forrest Gump"). It's based on Charles Dickens' classic story. Jim Carrey stars as at least four different characters in the film, alongside of Gary Oldman, Robin Wright Penn, Colin Firth, Cary Elwes, and Bob Hoskins.

Disney will debut "A Christmas Carol" in theaters on November 6.

I think Jim Carrey is pretty funny (in both his acting and in these interviews), so I am excited to see his performance in "A Christmas Carol."

A Christmas Carol

Charles Dickens' timeless tale of an old miser, Ebeneezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey), who must face Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, as they help to bring kindness to his otherwise cold heart. The Ghosts remind him of the man he used to be, the hard truth of what the world is today, and what will happen if he does not strive to be a better man. Set around Christmas, the most joyous day of the year, Scrooge realizes the sharp contrast of his own personality.

Carrey plays four separate roles in this updated version of "A Christmas Carol." Carrey portrays Scrooge, as well as the three ghosts (Past, Pesent, and Future). His dynamic character roles keep the four characters as diverse as being played by four actors.

Disney has released the following photo from Robert Zemeckis' A Christmas Carol, showing Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge encountering a ghost. The trailer is set to debut by the end of this month sometime, and will most likely show in front of Pixar's "Up" starting on May 29.

"A Christmas Carol" is both written and directed by filmmaker extraordinaire Robert Zemeckis, of everything from "Back to the Future" to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" to "Forrest Gump" his past CGI movies "The Polar Express" and "Beowulf" previously. This is based on Charles Dickens' classic story. Jim Carrey stars at least four different characters, alongside of Gary Oldman, Robin Wright Penn, Colin Firth, Cary Elwes, and Bob Hoskins. Disney will debut "A Christmas Carol" in theaters everywhere on November 6.
