Disney has been giving previews of its upcoming releases at the company's D23 Expo in California.
Among the activities at the Anaheim Convention Centre was the arrival of Johnny Depp in full Captain Jack Sparrow costume.
Depp took to the stage to announce the title and release date of the fourth installment in the Pirates franchise.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" is its name, and we can expect to see it in summer 2011.
The film was earlier said to be about Sparrow meeting up with Captain Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) in the newly founded New Orleans, where they embark on a search for the Fountain of Youth.
This appears to be true, as On Stranger Tides is the name of a 1988 Tim Powers' seafaring novel in which pirates travel to an island to find that mythical wellspring. It seems Disney bought the rights to the novel to draw upon its plot.
"Pirates 4" will be directed by Rob Marshall after Gore Verbinksi, who helmed the three previous movies, stepped down to take on other projects.
More news to come! Catch ya' later!

A new director huh? Any concerns there?
Rob Marshall is known for his musicals. But I don't expect any singing and dancing pirates.
But he is a cheaper director than Gore Verbinski (the last two "POTC" film had more special effects than needed).
We will have to wait to hear more details on the film.
