'Hack/Slash' Gets a Director

"Hack/Slash" is based on a comic that focuses on Cassie Hack, a young woman who symbolizes the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. Hack not only survived but also got over her fear and travels to small towns across the country hunting homicidal maniacs and serial killers like Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees. She travels along with Vlad, a "hulking companion" who serves as her protector and often wears a gas mask.

Rogue Pictures bought the rights to make a film based on the comic a year ago and hasn't really moved forward on this until now. "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" screenwriter Justin Marks had been hired to write the script (which is not a good thing at all) and now a director has been added to the film as well.

Rogue has hired first-time director Fredrik Bond to direct the movie. Bond's career so far has been directing commercials (and a short film) and this marks his feature debut. The film is officially set to start shooting sometime this winter with Bond at the helm.

The comic is overly gory, which will make the movie probably rated R, and has a tough, sexy female lead. Rumor was that Megan Fox was interested to play the role, but I just don't think she can act. I would prefer someone with not just good looks but decent acting to play the role.

More news to come! Catch ya' later!

I'm glad we're finally seeing some movement on this one. The comics have been sporting a "NOW OPTIONED AS A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE!" logo for quite a while now... I'm not too happy about the writer--"Street Fighter" was really boring--hopefully it will be good.

There are many female actresses I think could be awesome as Cassie Hack--Kristen Bell, Arielle Kebbel, Missy Peregrym, Jenna Dewan--the list goes on. Some of my choices may be a little too old for Cassie, but they would be badass. A little more believable than Megan Fox, anyway.

Megan Fox is hot, I concur. I just don't like her because she can't really act.

"Jennifer's Body" looks terrible and is meant to be watched only for her hotness.

Cassie is hot, yes indeed, but I like her snarky attitude and awesome toughness.

I'm hoping to hear more on this soon if they plan on starting the movie this winter.
