Up

Up, Pixar's 10th film, comes out May 29, 2009.
The Disney press release described the film as "Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life. “Up” takes audiences on a thrilling journey where the unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle creatures. When seeking adventure next summer—look “Up."

Pixar announced more details on the character Carl. "When Carl was a child, he met and eventually married a girl named Ellie who grew up in a small midwestern town. Ellie always dreamed of exploring the mountains but died before she got a chance. Now, when developers threaten to move him into an assisted living home, Carl decides to fulfill his promise to Ellie."

Up features the voices of Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, Jordan Nagai and John Ratzenberger.

Up is the first Pixar film to be presented in Disney Digital 3-D.

One character from UP appears in RATATOUILLE and, for a clue as to which one, Pete Docter (one of the directors) points us to the Ratatouille DVD commentary (I don't have the DVD, so if someone finds out, comment on who you think the character is).

It is also rumored that Harrison Ford and Robin Williams will play voices for additional characters in the animated film, but I haven't found out who (if the rumors are true).

More news to come! Catch ya' later!
