Sequel to Dazed and Confused

Director Richard Linklater was at a screening of "Dazed & Confused" held to support Austin, Texas mayoral candidate Brewster McCraken.

After the screening Linklater answered questions from a Q-and-A session. CHUD was there to hear the news that Linklater is planning on making a "spiritual sequel" to his classic film "Dazed and Confused."

"The movie, which he is shooting in and around Austin this summer, will be about the first weekend of college in 1980. So while thematically it'll bookend 'Dazed,' it won't have any of the same characters (which makes sense, as all of the actors are decades older and would look weird pretending it's just four years later).

Linklater's been talking about this movie for a while, but the fact that he plans on shooting it this summer seems to be the new bit of news."

Linklater keeps getting older but his movies stay the same age (Joke from a famous quote from the movie "Dazed and Confused." "). Will be interesting to see how this will link to "Dazed" and create a ending or sequel feeling.
