The Birds Are Back

According to Dark Horizons, "Actress Naomi Watts sounds surprisingly confident that Platinum Dunes' remake of 'The Birds' is going to happen after all.

'It will happen. It’s absolutely going to happen. And it’s something that Universal has a lot invested in, and so they’re going to make sure the script is right, and take their time with it. Martin Campbell’s directing it and he’s very involved in it' says the Aussie thesp during promotion of her new thriller 'The International.''

So when would it begin shooting? 'We don’t have a start date, but it could be the end of this year.'

Platinum Dunes has been in development for quite some time on a new version of Daphne du Maurier's short story. This version would bear only a faint resemblance to the famous 1963 Hitchcock thriller which most are familiar with."

Hitchcock's "The Birds" is a classic (though I still don;t understand why the bids are attacking), a new birds might not be bad, as long as it is different than the original film. We all don't need to have another "Psycho" problem, now do we?
More news to come! Catch ya' later!
