Watching the Watchmen Case

The news from Variety last week about "Watchmen" makes me wonder when will a final hearing ever get done for this case.

"Warner Bros. and Fox are pursuing a settlement of their bitter dispute over 'Watchmen.'

Attorneys for the studios agreed Friday to delay a federal court hearing until Monday in order to continue settlement talks.

The hearing had been set to take place Friday before US District Court Judge Gary Feess in Los Angeles for the jurist to rule on Warner's request for an expedited hearing on the key issue -- whether to grant Fox's demand to block Warner's plans to release 'Watchmen' on March 6."

Better news has come out that talks between the two studios are going easier.

According to UGO Movie Blog, "But in a happy new development, attorneys for Fox and Warner have asked the judge to delay the hearing because “settlement talks have been productive” and the studio giants were working toward amicable arbitration."

So when will we get the final word on the "Watchmen" case?
Soon...
More news to come! Catch ya' later!

I found it rather telling that they advertised Watchmen WITH it's March release date during the season premiere of 24, which of course, airs on Fox. The movie will be released on time, and Fox will cash in.

TV spots and trailers are still coming out, so whatever happens, the marketing department is just doing its job.
Let's hope for the best.
But you do have a point there about Fox...
