Green Hornet Survives

According to The Geek Files, "After HitFix's article, several other sites carried reports along the lines of 'Rogen's Green Hornet axed'. But Rogen has come forward to dismiss all those claims.

Stephen Chow had pulled out of the project back in December. It was reported that Chow would no longer direct or co-star as Kato, but that is apparently untrue. He's only stepped down as director.

Rogen, who's also producing and co-writing the film, now says the project is still very much alive.

In this bleak time of the economic crunch and massive job losses, he apparently wasn't too happy about the project being wrongly described as dead. Let's face it, the loss of a director is by no means the end of any movie, especially when filming hasn't even started."

Rogen said to HitFix, "'The Green Hornet' has many people working for it, including production designers, costume designers and many conceptual artists, office staff, etc.

"[The studio heads] have every intention on making it, and assuming we're able to hire a new director in the upcoming weeks, which seems like a distinct possibility, it should still hit the release date."

With these recent developments, it seems Chow will just be paying the role of Kato and a director should be announced in the forthcoming months. Glad everything is worked out, but a major amount of advertising should be made for this film since nothing has been done with "The Green Hornet" since the television show from the 60's.
"The Green Hornet" is scheduled for release on June 25, 2010.
