'Avatar': Making A Scene Featurette

While I've been off hanging out for the holiday, movie news has been still coming out. So all my backed up posts will be coming out now. I'd like to start off with "Avatar" because I'm sure something else about the film will come out next week.

In the film, Zoe Saldana’s character, Neytiri, a Na’vi warrior, takes Sam Worthington’s character, Jake Sully, up to a mountain top where the alien pterodactyls known as “Banshees” nest. As mandated by Na’vi custom, Jake must earn his right of passage as a hunter by breaking in one of the wild banshees, much like a cowboy has to break a wild stallion before he can ride it.

Below is a 10-minute featurette on the "anatomy of a scene." Looking at it, you see how much work went into each and every sequence James Cameron put together.
(If not working, head to Hulu to watch it)

This behind-the-scenes featurette is the first time I’ve gotten an extensive look at the revolutionary technology used for this film actually being put to purpose other than promoting the film. I wonder if we will be seeing this style of movie-making a lot more in the future if "Avatar" does well.

"Avatar" hits theaters Dec. 18.
More news to come! Catch ya' later!

And before "Avatar" and "Star Trek" there was Bill Shatner speaking Esperanto, in the film called "Incubus".

As an Esperanto speaker I found it terrifying! His Esperanto pronunciation that is, not the film.
