Kenneth Branagh is known more for theater and Shakespearean acting, but now he has pulled out of directing a Hamlet play in London so that he may direct the upcoming Thor movie.
Thor based on the comic book in which the Norse thunder god has a human alter-ego in disabled doctor Donald Blake.
A report by The Geek Files Tuesday said, "Branagh has landed the job of director for the Hollywood superhero film, saying he has had to pull out of directing Jude Law in Hamlet at Wyndham's Theatre from June 3 to August 22 2009."
Thor is due for release on July 16. 2010, with a screenplay by I Am Legend scribe Mark Protosevich. No casting has been announced at this early stage.
