“'Astro Boy' will retell the classic superhero origin story about a young robot boy with incredible powers who searches for the love of his father/creator, Dr. Tenma. Along the way, however, he faces seemingly unstoppable monsters and robots, which he must defeat in order to save the people of Metro City.
Regarded as the standard by which all other manga are judged, 'Astro Boy' was created by the 'God of Manga,' Osamu Tezuka. The film will be directed by David Bowers (Flushed Away), and is set to hit theaters on Oct. 23, 2009."
The film will be CGI and has an amazing pool of voice talent including: Kristen Bell, Nicholas Cage, Matt Lucas, Donald Sutherland, Nathan Lane, Bill Nighy and Eugene Levy. Freddie Highmore will supply the voice for the title role.
