Note, this is all rumor.according to an exclusive by Latino Review, Ryan Gosling is the current top choice for playing the role of Hal Jordan a.k.a. The Green Lantern.
The Geek Files gave a brief history of the Canadian actor.
"Gosling 27, who's had no formal acting training, has been in numerous TV series and was nominated for an Oscar and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role as Dan Dunne, a drug-addicted history teacher, in Half Nelson in 2006. He was Golden Globe-nominated for his 2007 role in Lars And The Real Girl.
After playing the romantic lead in the 2004 film The Notebook, Gosling was named one of People magazine's 50 Hottest Bachelors."

No, you must be thinking of the Green Lantern from the Justice League cartoon.
