Iron Man 2 (and War Machine)

Robert Downey Jr. spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the highly anticipated sequel to the smash hit film "Iron Man."
That's right. "Iron Man 2."

Sounds like Scarlett Johansson is getting ready to play Black Widow and Downey Jr. is getting back in shape from his time on set from "Sherlock Holmes."
Did he say War Machine is going to be in the movie? I think he might have. That is pretty darn interesting news to hear.

Downey Jr. also spoke to MTV News and revealed the "Demon in the Bottle" story from the comics (which originally appeared in “Iron Man” issues #120-128 in 1979) won't be the story in the film.

"When asked if the film was based on this famous story arc, Downey told MTV News, 'Not really.'

'As a matter of fact, I think that’s probably best saved,' said Downey, 'because it’s such its own storyline.'

This matches Jon Favreau’s thoughts last year that, while 'Demon in a Bottle' may come one day, it doesn’t need to be in 'Iron Man 2.' Hopefully, Downey has quite a few 'Iron Man' films ahead of him.

So, what is the storyline, outside major cast additions?

'We’re going for the interim space [between the origin and 'Demon'],' explained Downey, 'which is more a look behind the mask of someone who says he’s Iron Man and what it really is to become a superhero.'”

Also watch Downey Jr.'s interview with Extra's Mario Lopez below. He talks about "The Soloist," "Sherlock Holmes" and "Iron Man 2."

Did Downey just say that a third Iron Man is a definite, or did I hear that wrong?

Probably early to suggest a third film, but with the success of the franchise I wouldn't be surprised to see more.
They are going to make an "Avengers" movie which will have Iron Man in it along with other heroes, so more Iron Man is definite.

I wasn't suggesting it-I thought that was part of the question and answer thing in the second video...

In the second video I posted yes, he is asked will there be a third installment and Downey said, "Yes."

It really is up to Favreau for a third "Iron Man," but I believe Downey and the franchise (or he may be hinting at the "Avengers").

Either way. Woo! More "Iron Man!"
