"9" is an animated short made by Shane Acker in 2005 that was nominated for an Oscar. Now the short is being made into a full movie and will have a limited release on Sept. 9, 2009 (9/9/09).
“9” follows nine ragdolls on a quest to save humanity in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
The movie features the voice talents of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau and Christopher Plummer.
Watch the original animated short, the trailer and an exclusive clip of the film below.
Not sure how the ragdolls are supposed to save humanity or why there are strange creatures out in the world trying to steal the souls of the ragdolls, but there seems to be a lot of action in the trailer for the movie.
More news to come! Catch ya' later!

So is the full length version going to show what happened before the short-kind of lead up to and end with the short?
It kind of is unknown how the movie will connect to the short. Obviously in the short all the ragdolls except for 9 are killed but in the movie there are more of them as they fight off the strange creatures.
How did the world end? Where are the people? What are the creatures and what is the purpose of the dolls?
The short was made and gave only questions. Hopefully the movie will give some answers.
