In the summer of 2008 Will Smith starred as the title character in the superhero movie "Hancock." The movie had a good box office run, banking over $600 million worldwide; so it’s no wonder that talks of a sequel weren’t too far behind.
While "Hancock 2" has been in the talked about, it was unconfirmed whether director Peter Berg would be able to lure Will Smith and co-star Charlize Theron back for a sequel.
In a conversation before he heads to the Toronto film festival with a Wayne Gretzky documentary, Berg confirmed for MTV News that both Smith and Theron will certainly be returning for the next "Hancock."
"Everybody's going to come back for a sequel," Berg said in response to a question about the two megastars.
The big reveal at the end of "Hancock" was that [Spoiler Alert!] both Smith and Theron's characters are immortal gods who become vulnerable when near each other. For the sequel, Berg said we can expect the appearance of at least one more all-powerful god. What's more, he's got his eye on a well-known name to play a third superhero.
"We have [someone in mind]," Berg said. "I'm not gonna tell you who, but we have!"
Are you happy to see Will Smith and Charlize Theron reprising their roles? Who would you like to see as the third all-powerful demi-god?
More news to come! Catch ya' later!
