Earlier this month it was announced that "My Bloody Valentine" director Patrick Lussier would be helming the fast-tracked "Halloween 3-D" for release next summer. But it looks like The Weinstein Company's Dimension Films might have bitten off more than they can chew. Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood snagged a scoop on the sudden stop of pre-production on "Halloween 3-D."
Deadline points out "the rumor mill claims TWC is out of money" and that "TWC couldn't agree on a $2.5M budget battle with Lussier." Finke then says she heard that Bob Weinstein shut down "Halloween 3-D" pre-production "because Bob just felt it was rushing too fast.'"
The film was being rushed into production because Lussier will be unavailable starting in January as he will start working on another film. Now TWC will wait until Lussier is free to again begin pre-production on the next "Halloween" film.
What do you think on halting production on "Halloween 3-D"? This movie will probably not come out until 2011 if they wait for Lussier to be free.
More news to come! Catch ya' later!
