"The Road" has taken a long time to get to theaters and has finally been shown at the Venice Film Festival. Reviews from that screening are primarily positive, but more importantly they all seem to agree the film sticks close to Cormac McCarthy's beloved, best-selling and Pulitzer Prize winning novel.
Viggo Mortensen stars in the post-apocalyptic tale as a father (Mortensen) and his young son (Kodi Smit-McPhee) venture across a barren landscape that was blasted by an unnamed cataclysm that destroyed civilization and most life on earth. You can watch the trailer here.
