Mad Max 4

"Mad Max 4" was rumored to be an animated film that would focus on the further stories of Mel Gibson's character from the original trilogy.

According to Australia newspaper the Herald Sun, director George Miller is scouting for locations for the new movie. Does this mean he wishes to integrate the landscape into the animted movie or will it actually be live-action?

It's been 30 years since Mad Max hit theaters and, according to industry sources, director George Miller is currently scouting for locations for the upcoming fourth film in the series. But one thing he won't be looking for is Mel Gibson. Though Gibson's take on titular character Max Rockatansky helped create the film franchise, Miller doesn't see the actor-director returning for the role.

"It won't be Mel," asserted Miller. "He was 21 when he made the first one, now he's a lot older and his passion is for film-making and directing." (Latino Review)

Will we be truly getting a "Mad Max 4?" Will it be live-action or animated? Who will play the new Mad Max?
More news to come! Catch ya' later!

Maybe it'll be CGI like "Beowulf". That could be cool.

I'm curious to see who Max will be if Mel Gibson isn't returning. I'd never really thought about it. Mel will always be Max to me, I guess. Off the top of my head, Thomas Jane might be a cool choice, but it'd sort of be the same type of guy he played in "The Punisher".

Mel Gibson defined that role-it would just be strange to see someone else in that role...

I guess Mad Max is kind of like the Punisher in a way (family killed and then goes vigilante).

But yes, Mel Gibson did define the role and has furthered his career since then, but if they do have it animated (or CGI) then maybe they can get permission to make it look like a young Mel Gibson (just have someone else do the voice).

We will have to wait and listen for more news on this.
