'Jonah Hex' Doing Two Weeks of Reshoots

Two weeks of reshoots and/or additional shooting will take place for the upcoming film "Jonah Hex."

It’s normal for films to get a couple of extra days at the end of the original shooting period to tweak some odds and ends that weren’t done right. But it becomes more of an issue when it’s not just days but weeks of reshooting that get scheduled.

SpoilerTV is reporting that "Jonah Hex" will be going through the reshoots next year between January 18 and February 1. It is also reported that a set of casting call notes has gone out describing the characters involved in the reshoots.

There are a few significant ones: Jeb Turnbull, son of John Malkovich’s primary villain, and Cassie, Hex’s wife. Casting these characters implies that a couple of sequences will be shot that are flashbacks to Hex’s past.

On top of the casting call details, Bloody-Disgusting says that director Jimmy Hayward will be replaced by Francis Lawrence ("I Am Legend," "Constantine") for the period of the reshoots.

That information should be treated strictly as a RUMOR until it’s confirmed or denied.

What do you make of "Jonah Hex" getting a two-week reshoot period? Do you think the new director bit (if true) is something to be worried about?

"Jonah Hex" hits theaters next summer on June 18, 2010.
