Paramount has debuted the first official trailer for Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Michelle Williams, Max von Sydow, and Jackie Earle Haley.
The film tells the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.
"Shutter Island" is directed by prolific filmmaker Martin Scorsese, ("Taxi Driver," "Raging Bull" and "Goodfellas" to name a few). The screenplay was written by Laeta Kalogridis, of "Pathfinder" previously. This is based on Dennis Lehane's novel of the same name. Paramount is bringing "Shutter Island" to theaters on October 2.
