IESB has confirmed today that 20th Century Fox is looking to continue the big screen "Hitman" franchise that started in 2007 with a movie directed by Xavier Gens. Kyle Ward, of the upcoming "Kane & Lynch" movie as well as the upcoming "Fiasco Heights," has been hired to write the script. Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon will return as producers, but no word yet on whether Timothy Olyphant, who played Agent 47, will be back as well.
"Hitman" is based off a popular video game franchise (that I myself am very partial too), but the film was more action than stealth and was mediocre. The film made only $40 million in box office and I see of no reason of making a sequel (or is this a reboot?).
My suggestion would be to make Agent 47 a hidden character and focus on a detective trying to catch 47. The film will follow all the exploits of the detective and will show the awesome stealth of 47. No one wants to watch a movie of a guy creeping behind bushes to knock a person out and then steal his outfit. Skip those parts and show the surprise of the stealth attacks.
My opinion...
More news to come! Catch ya' later!
