Harrison Ford in 'Indiana Jones 5.' Duh!

The Insider is reporting that Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as "Indiana Jones" for the fifth installment of the franchise. They don't have much else to add, except that it'll supposedly start shooting next year, sometime in 2010, for release in 2011. "Harrison has kept himself in good shape and could still do a lot of the stunts in the last film," their source says.

Back in June, Shia LaBeouf let slip that Steven Spielberg is already gearing up for "Indiana Jones 5," so this isn't the first time we've heard of this, but it is the first we've heard about Ford.

But I was really expecting this because how can you make an "Indiana Jones" film without Ford? I think everyone believed that "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was setting up LaBeouf to take over the reigns so that Ford could retire once and for all, but I think even Spielberg knows how big of a mistake that would be.

Expect the 67-year-old actor to be kicking Soviet (or other evildoers) butt sometime in the next two years. Maybe it will have a better script too so they won't nuke the fridge.

More news to come! Catch ya' later!

I hate Hollywood sometimes. The money that Indy 4 made justifies another one in the studios' minds, so they're going to churn out another piece of absolute trash with Indy's name stamped on it. It's hard for me to even fathom how awful Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was. The freakin' thing took everything that sucked about The Mummy (and its sequels), Alien vs. Predator, National Treasure (and its sequel), and others that I can't remember right now and threw them together into a piss-poor interpretation of one of the adventure films' greatest heroes (if not the greatest).

I'd like to think Harrison Ford has a little more self-respect than to return to a franchise like this, but when the damn thing is based around his character, he's almost forced to continue regardless of what kind of bullsh*t script they come up with (as evidenced in the previous film).

I honestly would prefer the "View Master" and "Asteroid: The Video Game" movies they are making to another Indy movie - at least let him go out with a bitter aftertaste in the audience mouths before we spit him out completely. Keep pumping out National Treasure movies until Nic Cage reaches age 67 - that's fine with me. Those movies don't have the history and legacy of Indiana Jones.

F*ck.

(Sorry. Got a little worked up there.)

"Kingdom of the Crystal" skull just had a lot wrong with it when compared to the original trilogy.

I clearly remember your first impressions on your video review after seeing the film.

The film could have been a lot better, but I just don't see the need for more.

I don't remember hearing anything about people wanting more "Indiana Jones." It is a beloved franchise with memorable moments.

"Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" isn't as memorable as compared to the rest of the series.

If a fifth one is coming, hopefully they can learn from their mistakes and try to bring Indy back to his roots (but I guess Shia might be along for the ride).
