"The Expendables"
The news - Here's the second behind-the-scenes featurette of a five-part series (catch the first here). This one goes into the hiring of MMA fighters to portray soldiers in the film.
"X-Men: First Class"
The news - A good amount of casting news for this "X-Men" prequel. Jennifer Lawrence, the 19-year-old star of "Winter's Bone," has joined the cast of "First Class" as the yellow-eyed, red-haired shape-shifting vixen Mystique. Kevin Bacon has also been confirmed to be in the film as the villain (which villain is unknown right now). And the earlier rumor that director Matthew Vaughn's "Kick-Ass" star Aaron Johnson will reunite with the helmer and play the role of Cyclops has been confirmed as well.
Lawrence, Bacon and Johnson join previously announced cast members including James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Alice Eve as Emma Frost, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee and Lucas Till as Havok. The film charts the origins of X-Men saga as Charles Xavier (McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Fassbender) go from discovering their powers to becoming archenemies.

"World War Z"
The news - Much has been quiet on the film adaptation of the No. 1 best-selling book by Max Brooks, but now official word has come out on who will play the lead role. Brad Pitt. Yeah - you read that right. I can't recall a zombie movie ever being anchored by a star even remotely close to Brad Pitt's stature.
Paramount is currently targeting a Summer 2012 release for "World War Z," which chronicles a worldwide zombie outbreak through the first-hand accounts of survivors. "Quantum of Solace" director Marc Forster is still attached to direct the film.
