Tom Cruise Officially Signed On for 'Mission Impossible 4'
Last summer we got official word that Paramount would be developing "Mission: Impossible IV" and J.J. Abrams (who also directed the third installment) would return to produce. Abrams then went ahead and found writers for the movie in Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec who he worked with on "Alias."
At the time there was no word on whether Cruise would reprise his role as agent Ethan Hunt, but now Deadline Hollywood has word that the superstar closed his deal at Paramount to confirm his return to the franchise for a fourth go-round. But they're still looking for a director.
I wonder who Abrams and Cruise will get to sit in the director's chair for the new movie? I'd love to see Abrams return, but I'd rather have him dedicate himself to the next "Star Trek" movie instead.
So who else could do a good job directing the fourth "Mission Impossible"?
"Mission: Impossible IV" is planned to begin shooting this summer for a Memorial Day 2011 weekend release.
More news to come! Catch ya' later!
