The Next Spider-Man Villain?

Awesome news from MTV Splashpage that hints at the possible next villain for "Spider-Man 4."

"In a recent Empire magazine story, Raimi indicates that The Lizard might be taking a backseat as Raimi considers returning to his horror film roots in the next installment of the “Spider-Man” film franchise.

'I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius,' said Raimi. 'He’s really cool. A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural.'

While that’s not a confirmation that Marvel’s living vampire will be the heavy in the next 'Spider-Man' film, it is a rather…interesting choice should Raimi proceed with that line of thinking.

Dr. Michael Morbius — a Spidey mainstay since the early 1970s — was a man who, through scientific experiments with vampire bats, gains the powers of a vampire. As other websites have already mentioned, Morbius’ origin mirrors that of The Lizard’s, leaving open speculation that the two could be causing headaches for Spider-Man in the next film."
