UGO Movie Blog gathered all the information it could on the upcoming children's adaptation "Where the Wild Things Are," based on the best-selling picture book by Maurice Sendak.
Here are some of the more interesting facts.
"The film concerns the imaginary adventures of a young boy named Max, who is angry after being sent to his room without supper. He then creates a forest inhabited by many large imaginary monsters, who crown him their ruler."
"The film is directed by Spike Jonze and was written by Jonze and post-modern author Dave Eggers."
"Lance Acord shot the film and Spike Jonze has said that it is some of the best work he’s ever done."
"The seven creatures will be actors in up to nine-foot-tall suits made of foam, although it is expected that their faces will be computer-generated."
"The film is currently in post-production. Jonze expects the effects to be completed by May ‘09 which will lead into the final mix later that month."
"The film’s release is currently scheduled for October 16, 2009."
